Getting to the Church
RRUMC is located on Abrazo Road just west off Unser Boulevard between Southern Boulevard and Northern Boulevard. Enter through the glass doors at the center. The sanctuary is straight ahead. The nursery and children’s classrooms are down the corridor to your right. The fellowship hall and adult class rooms are down the corridor to your left. See ‘Contact Us’ link for map.

How should I dress?
While some folks like to wear their "Sunday Best" to worship on Sunday mornings, many wear comfortable and casual clothes. Everyone wears comfortable and casual clothes to our Wednesday night activities.

When should I get there?
Our Sunday morning worship services are at 8:30 a.m. (traditional) and 11:00 a.m. (contemporary). Please stay after the first service or come early for the second service to enjoy coffee and snacks in the Fellowship Hall, beginning at 9:30 a.m. It is best to arrive about 5 to 10 minutes ahead of time to allow for parking. Sunday school classes for all ages are held from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. To get to know our church family better, join us for an evening meal in the Fellowship Hall on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. There is no charge for the meal but donations are appreciated. The meal is followed by Bible studies, fellowship activities and chancel choir and praise team practices.

What about my children?
Rio Rancho UMC has fabulous preschool, children, and youth ministry programming. Children aged 5 and under are welcome in our professionally staffed nursery during the worship services and Sunday school time. Children are welcome in all worship services and those in Kindergarten through 3rd grade are invited to attend Children’s Church following the children’s message in each worship service. Children’s Sunday school classes are available for children in Kindergarten through High School from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Our youth group meets from 5 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. on Sunday evenings for a snack supper, games, fellowship, and Bible studies. Everyone who works in our preschool, children, and youth ministries has received United Methodist Safe Sanctuaries training. Our Sonshine choir, for children in preschool though elementary school, practices at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays before the evening meal.

Sponsor-A-Mile Mission Trip Fundraiser

For the remainder of March into April, we will be featuring the Sponsor -A-Mile fundraiser. It is approximately 1627 miles to and from San Marcos, Texas from Rio Rancho.  We will be taking two vans, as we have 18 people going. That means, we will be driving around 3254 miles in 9 days.  Allowing for driving fully loaded and anticipating that the cost of gas will not come down, we estimate that it will cost about $1300.00 for gas. That means each mile is costing us .40 cents. If you would like to sponsor miles, please put your name on a “van” and put the van and the amount you are sponsoring in the “Sponsor-A-Mile” collection jar in the entry. Be sure to check out the bulletin board and the display on the hall in the education wing to see our travel route, then watch as we see how far our vans travel! Everyone who sponsors miles will be invited to attend an afternoon of mission trip stories and snacks with the youth after they return from the trip.

What we believe

The United Methodist Church proclaims faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We worship God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and believe that God created us to be holy and happy. However, we and the world are fallen from that created purpose. There is pain, evil, sin, and suffering in the world. God came in the person of Jesus Christ and walked among us to free us from all of this and show us the way to the life that God intended for us from the beginning. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we are strengthened and healed for that journey. We believe that no one can make this journey alone.
